Giving up

But not because it was too hard. I just realized that a lot of what I want to write about is actually really personal and I didn't realize how many people were actually reading this.

At first I was going to try and just keep a seperate journal and continue the blog but thats just sooo time consuming. and not really worth it. so.... congrats to the betters.

Sorry to disappoint. I am sure that i will occassionally post. I do like the feeling of it all. Maybe just not the whole picture thing. at least not until I get a good camera and can actually take decent photos.

Blagh can you tell I am rambling? I feel kind of lonely lately. Not like in a no one likes me sense. but in a no one to talk to because they don't get me kind of way

ok now I am just being over dramatic teenager. dangit.

Maybe you will hear from me again soon!!

Elvis... and Tools....

Today is the birthday of Elvis Presley. so the picture for today is.....

I found these at Brass Armadillo. So technically I cheated and took two pictures on the same day... oh well :)

Today has been another great day :) I had great lessons at church, and got that remotivation I always do. It feels so good :)

ALSO... I sat next to this very cute boy during the fireside tonight, he put his arm around me, and was just flirting up a storm the whole time. and usually I would fall right into that little trap... but lately I have been on my guard, so I saw right through him. Jokingly, after he asked me to marry him, I said, " so do you do this to all the new girls? or am I just that pretty?" to which he asked me I just called him a whore. I had to laugh at that but I gave that "if the shoe fits" kind of look. After it was over, there was no exchange of phone numbers, no hope to see you again, nothing. he just got up and was flirting with another girl. I was kind of proud of myself for not letting him get to me. Not saying he is a bad guy, he is really nice. But then to have two of my friend approach me afterward and warn me about the guy I was sitting next to just confirmed my preconceived notions. But it felt good to not fall for a boy just because he was paying attention to me like I did in high school.

However.... I really do want a boy!!!! I am getting a bit ansy... :)

Today will be remembered for Tools :)

Brass Armadillo

Saturday, January 7th, 2012

Ok, so I was just introduced to one of the coolest stores EVER!!!!! on saturday night, Spencer Parrack, Maerin Call, and Luke Frampton (and me of course) all went to the Brass Armadillo Thrift mall. AMAZING!!!! Absolutely loved it. wanted to buy a ton of stuff, bought some books instead :) which, afterwards we went to Bookmans (my number one favorite book store) and I got $20 worth of books for free :) which was a total of like 9 books! happy day. Anyway.... we found these hats, and I really loved them, they made me want to be back in the 20's.

Now, there wasn't a whole lot of philisophical thinking going on today. Just a lot of happiness. It felt so good to just go out with friends and have a fantastic night. we went to Brass armadillo, Bookmans, olive garden, and then to the movie theatre to see We bought a zoo. which, by the way, is a phenominal movie. I cried, and I laughed, but I felt like there was so much back story missing... however, still one of my new favorite movies.

"Hey mister! Everyone thinks your a .... but i don't think that's true!" - Rosie

So today will be remembered for having a great time with friends!!! Old and new :)

Big Brothers

I was told by one of my coworkers, who has known me since I was born, that I am a female clone of my big brother, Josh, who also works with us. This is not the first time I have been told things like this. but it wasn't until I was looking at pictures of us when we were younger that I really saw it.

Josh Turley

Jessica Turley

Now, I know it isn't exactly a clone picture, but had I not been obnoxiously squinting my eyes, my goodness I would start to wonder. :)

Truth is, I really admire my brother. I don't think he knows how much I truly look up to him, or how much he has influenced a lot of my decisions, but he is one of my biggest role models. So when people tell me I am just like my brother, it means so much more to me than just looking like him. It gives me a sense of accomplishment. Like, I am doing an ok job if they think I am like him :) His passion for music is probably something that drove me the most, because music is such a huge part of me, and that came from him. He is an amazing musician and I only wish I could be half as good as he is. He also has a phenominal family. I absolutely adore his kids and his wife. Plus, Josh gets me. I can talk to him about anything, and I have! He has been through a lot of stuff with me, and more, he has always been there to help me, to protect me, just like a big brother is suppose to.

Now, if you are another sibling of mine and feeling a little left out, no worries, I still love you too!!!!!!! and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to get an entire post about you!!!!! :)

Today will be remembered for big brothers :)

Fire

This post is for yesterday, January 4th, 2012. For any of you that are betting against me, you haven't won. My goal was to take or post a picture every day. and I took pictures yesterday and today, I just didn't post them. so today you get two posts!

Last night I went a bonfire, and I was just so completely mezmerized by the fire. I couldn't stop watching it, and thinking about how amazing it was. I really can't describe what i was thinking or the effect the fire had on me. The way it just ate the trees, or licked the air, and spat the embers out, the crackle and snap, like twigs breaking in the forest, it was just so engulfing. Not to make myself sound like a pyro, which I know I totally do, but I really do just love fire :)

I have several pictures that I really liked, but nothing really captured the elements of the fire as well as the video did. It is short, and pay no attention to the random talking in the background.

So yesterday I thought a lot about fire! I promise I am not a pyro!!!

Dead Ends and Happy Endings

It has been a fantastic day :) and so I write this next post with hesitation because it may seem a bit morbid, but it just kind of popped into my head when I took my picture for the day. I have been trying to twist it in any way I could to make it a happy picture, but it was what hit me today, so I must post it.

There is a dead end sign right next to my house, because I live in a double cul-de-sac, and the sign is hidden in this big tree. I have lived in this house for almost six years now and I never noticed it the way I did today. It is so deceiving! I remember I use to get so frustrated because soooo many people would come into the cul-de-sac and just turn around.... because they missed the sign.... They didn't know where they were going and they drove right into the dead end. now fortunately for the reality of this all they weren't stuck there, but in a metaphorical way, how often do we walk right into a dead end because we weren't watching? we weren't paying attention to all the signs??? The ironic part is, there is a stop sign just a few feet away from this Dead End sign. Maybe, if we followed the signs and directions a little better and a little more often, we would see the stop sign, and actually stop, and observe, look both ways, double check, and then decide where we want to go, we would see the dead end sign and go the other way.

Just some food for thought ;)

NOW on a much lighter and happier note... I received one of the best emails ever from one of my missionaries. His grandfather passed away a year ago, not a member of the church, and a few weeks ago, he was able to do the work for his grandfather. I have never felt so much hope from him, from his words. and his testimony that he shared with me brought tears to my eyes. He has changed so much, and I am sooo proud of the man he is becoming. one more year!!!! No matter who either of us ends up with in the end, or where life takes us, I have a really good feeling that we will both get the Happy ending we have been waiting for.

So that was my day today :) It will be remembered for Dead Ends and Happy Endings!
